Who we are
The Arthritis Association of Louisiana is the only local nonprofit organization providing information, services
and support to people with arthritis in the greater Baton Rouge area. Our mission is to improve lives through continuing
community service, education and support of research for arthritis and related diseases.

2007 Board of Directors
Our history The Arthritis Association of Louisiana was founded in February 2004 with initial funding from the Capital Area United Way and Special Children's Foundation by a group of arthritis patients, people affected by arthritis in their families, and health care providers who work with arthritis patients. After the closing of the local chapter of the Arthritis Foundation, these community leaders were determined to provide the support, information, and services that people with arthritis and related diseases need. Today, the AAOLA is a United Way agency primarily serving the greater Baton Rouge area, with plans to expand throughout South Louisiana. The AAOLA produces Camp J.A.M. (Juvenile Arthritis & Me) annually for children and teens with arthritis and their families. We also hold an annual Team Up for Arthritis walk and fun run and an annual Tribute to Excellence Gala to raise funds for our programs and services. The 2007 Gala honored Price and Shirley LeBlanc and their family; read more and see photos from previous galas.
