• The AAOLA produces Camp J.A.M. (Juvenile Arthritis & Me) annually for children and teens with arthritis and their families.

• The AAOLA holds several special events, including our annual Tribute to Excellence Gala, to raise funds for our programs and services. Check our Calendar of Events to see what's on the schedule.

• Additional programs and services include:
  • Free information for patients and loved ones on the most common arthritis-related diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and fibromyalgia

  • A loan closet of medical equipment such as crutches, wheelchairs, and lift chairs for patients

  • An extensive lending library of books and videos on arthritis topics, including specific disease information, tips for making daily activities easier, and instruction in arthritis-friendly exercise

  • An up-to-date list of rheumatologists (doctors specializing in the care of arthritis) throughout Louisiana

  • Information on exercise programs available statewide, including warm-water exercise programs

  • Knowledgeable staff members and volunteers available to attend community health affairs and speak to groups on request

  • Support for research by local physicians and other experts on topics related to the prevention, treatment, and cure of arthritis and related diseases

  • A website with local event information and coming soon, an online newsletter
